She was born in Johnson County a daughter of the late Walter Norris and Mabel Crowe Norris. Mrs. Honeycutt was of the Pentecostal Faith. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Clarence Honeycutt; one daughter, Christine Laws and husband Daryl of Johnson City; four sons, Dallas Honeycutt and wife Nancy of Jonesborough, Daryl Honeycutt and wife Jeannette of Jonesborough, Dale Honeycutt and wife Bonnie of Johnson City, and Mark Honeycutt of Johnson City; eight grandchildren, Debbie Williams and husband Travis, Angie Honeycutt, Jeff Laws and wife Erica, Brandy Copas, Dustin Honeycutt, Jennifer Honeycutt, Amber Honeycutt, and Josh Honeycutt; three great grandchildren; one brother, Stanley Norris of Cincinnati, Ohio; special friends, Jim and Brenda Ward; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday evening, September 6, 2010, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the Morris Baker South Chapel. A funeral service for Mrs. Ruth Honeycutt will follow at 7:00 pm in the Morris Baker South Chapel with Pastor Jack Maupin officiating. Burial will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 9:00 am in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family and friends. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 8:45 am on Tuesday morning for the graveside service. She was the daughter of the late Amos Dennison and Mary Taylor Dennison. In addition to her parent’s one son, Anthony Wade Mayes; one daughter, Teresa Ann Archer; several brothers and sisters also preceded her in death. Mrs. Mayes was a homemaker and was a member of the Boones Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include: her loving husband of fifty-six years, Chuck Mayes ; one daughter, Rachel Swoboda and her husband Butch of Johnson City; one son, Jeff Mayes and his wife Sonya of Lakeland, Florida; one brother, JW Dennison and his wife Colleen of Gray; one sister, Roe Wilhelm of Kingsport; one son-in-law, John Archer of Gray; two grandchildren, Josh Archer and Ashley Pelaez; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Jewel D. Mayes will be conducted at 2 PM Monday September 6, 2010 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. William H. Dingus will officiate. I. David “Dave” Ingram, age 76, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010 at his residence. He was the son the late Dewey Ingram, Sr. and Mae Street Ingram. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife and best friend Shelby Ingram, whose love and care helped him through so many difficult times. One loving son, Jonathan D. Ingram, MD of Lafayette, LA.; one brother, William Ingram and wife Shirley; two sisters, Lois Ingram Shaffer and husband Clyde, and Joyce Ingram; several nieces and nephews; one special nephew, Jerry Jenkins and wife Rachel. Mr. Ingram attended Appalachian State University, ETSU and Loyola University, earning both BA and MA degrees. He was a retired teacher and counselor from the Kingsport City School System. Mr. Ingram was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Johnson City. An avid conservationist, hiker and white water paddlers, he belonged to several organizations supporting those activities. An ambition of his was to write an account on “Rivers an rocks in those rivers that have known me.” To all my fellow paddlers and hikers, I will see you on the other side waiting at the “put in.” The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. Angela Dispenzieri of the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, Dr. Ray Lamb and Dr. Brian Nerren of Johnson City, TN. A celebration of life service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Johnson City, TN at 5:30 pm Sunday, September 5, 2010 with Louis Imsande, Rev. Tom Bier and Dr. Jonathan Ingram officiating. Mrs. Fox was a native of Carter County who lived most of her life in Washington County. She was the daughter of the late J. Perry King and Sally Carrier King. In addition to her parent’s her husband, Ross E. Fox; one son, John H. Miller III; one sister, Orda Ellis; one grandson, Matthew Flint Miller; one great grandson; Juda Seth Miller also preceded her in death. Mrs. Fox retired from East Tennessee Mills as a Floor Manager. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Anne Kerr of Johnson City; one brother, Samuel S. King of Greeneville; one sister, Nancy J. Williams of Oak Ridge; six grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Nell Rhea King Fox will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday September 7, 2010 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Reece Harris and John E. Miller will officiate. She was born on May 22, 1920 in Mitchell County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Gibbs and Martha Honeycutt. Mrs. Honeycutt was one of ten children all deceased, with the exception of one devoted brother, Dallas Honeycutt of Johnson City. Special relatives who will cherish her memory include, Teresa Gregory, Brenda Carden, Barbara Clark and Melba Goulding all of Johnson City; others are Rose Crafton Sparks and Edna Blevins of Winston-Salem, NC; Finnie Kipping of Murfreesboro, TN; and Betty Jo Leonard of Roanoke, VA. “Aunt Temp” as she was known to her numerous nieces and nephews, was a kind, loving person who approached life with a giving, gentle spirit. Her sense of humor and ability to “look on the bright side” will be remembered with joy by her loved ones. She took pleasure in “walks down memory lane” and enjoyed family reunions where childhood stories were shared with love and laughter. She was especially proud of young people in her family and enjoyed celebrating the weddings, births and graduations of close and extended relatives. Although unable to attend church for the past few years, she openly professed her faith by stating, “I’m saved and ready to go.” The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 1, 2010, from 11:00 am until 12 Noon in the Morris Baker South Chapel. A celebration of Mrs. Tempie Honeycutt’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at 12 Noon in the Morris Baker South Chapel with Henry McCarthy and Rev. Robert T. Edmonds officiating. She was a retired registered nurse from the Johnson City Medical Center and briefly at Northside Hospital. Mrs. Goodin was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church and remained active in the Grace Free Will Baptist Church Ladies Auxiliary until moving to Asheville in 2002. Mrs. Goodin was preceded in death by her husband James “Jim” Goodin, one sister, Frances Bulla Garland, and two brothers, William Bulla and Kenneth Bulla. She is survived by her daughter, Judi McAbee and husband Michael; one son, Keith Hinkle and wife Beverly; two grandsons, Mark Smith and Brandon Hinkle; one step grandson, Dustin McAbee and wife Lisa; two granddaughters, Ashley Haun and husband Kirk and Amie Smith; one step granddaughter, Wendi McAbee; two great grandchildren, Taylor and Alden Haun; two step great grandchildren, Jake and Eli McAbee; two sisters, Linda Kinley of Kingsport, TN, and Lillie Brown of Knoxville, TN; three brothers, David Bulla, Jay Bulla both of Johnson City, and Kyle Bulla of Peachtree City, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
