Adrian Lester Tate

March 28, 1921 ~ March 14, 2008

Adrian Lester, Tate, 86, of 126 Bart Green Drive, Gray, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2008 at his daughters home in Roan Mountain. Mr. Tate was a native of Washington County and a son of the late, William Gentry Tate and Lizzie Mitchell Tate. He was also preceded in death by his wife ,Dorothy Lee Rash Tate and by five brothers, Clifton, Billie, Keith, Verley and Ira and one sister, Lochiel. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Gray. Mr. Tate served in the U. S. Army during W.W. II and was in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe Survivors include; one daughter, Carol Tate Gagan and her husband, Pat, of Roan Mountain; one Grandson, Mark Gagan and his wife, Alison; two Great Grandchildren, Abigail and Miles Gagan; three Brothers, Hal Tate, Sr., Monmouth, Ill., J. B. Tate of Gray and Gentry Tate of San Antonio, TX; one sister, Wanda of Tennessee. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 pm Monday from the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Rufus Smith will officiate. Burial services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday from the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for these services. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday.
