Dr. Dan Ray Quisenberry

January 3, 1938 ~ February 7, 2015

Dr. Dan Ray Quisenberry, 77, Johnson City, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015. He was born in Hammond, Indiana to the late Wilbur Quisenberry and Catherine Dryjanski Quisenberry. He is preceded in death by his parents and younger sister Shirley Quisenberry. He was a retired professor of Physics and Earth Sciences at Mercer University in Macon, GA. Dan was an elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Johnson City. He was a proud member of the Tri-Cities Senior Golf League. He is survived by: his wife Barbara, son David and wife Linda of Johnson City, and grandchildren Cara Beth Brackins and Ethan Quisenberry. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church in Johnson City. The Quisenberry family will receive friends at Morris-Baker Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 5:00 PM until time of service at 7:00 PM with Paul Helphinstine officiating.     THIS IS MEANT AS A TRIBUTE TO A GENTLEMAN. I HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF PLAYING GOLF WITH DAN MANY TIMES OVER ABOUT 10 YEARS IN THE SENIOR GOLF LEAGUE. ONE DAY, BOTH OF US HAD HIT A SHOT THAT WASN’T GREAT AND I SAID “DAN, DO YOU MIND IF I SAY A FEW CUSS WORDS”….HE WOULDN’T OF COURSE, BUT HE HAD THE SPIRIT SO HE SAID,”NO GO AHEAD…SAY A FEW FOR ME WHILE YOU’RE AT IT”…ALWAYS A GENTLEMEN…AND OF COURSE ONE WE WILL MISS
