Mary G. Everhart

Mary G. Everhart, 79, of 1009 Grace Drive, Johnson City died Monday, January 25, 2010 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Everhart was a native of Hendersonville, NC and had lived in Johnson City for many years. She was a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Nystrom Gillespie. Mrs. Everhart was a retired office manager in a local textile plant. She was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church serving as the Financial Secretary for many years, and as a coordinator in the Food Pantry. She also volunteered at NHC Healthcare in the Recreation Department, Interfaith Hospitality Network, the American Red Cross and was a special caretaker for Virginia Plyler at NHC Healthcare. Survivors include: her husband, Richard H. Everhart of the home; a God-Daughter Sierra Brown Street and her husband Adam of Johnson City; special family Valerie and Billy Brown of Jonesborough; a brother Frank Gillespie and wife Eva of Horseshoe, NC; two sisters Marjorie Rector of Asheville, NC and Martha Gillespie of Hendersonville,NC; a brother-in-law Wallace Everhart of Asheville, NC; one niece Mary Ann Guthrie of Horseshoe, NC; two nephews, Phil Gillespie and wife Patty of Horseshoe, NC and William Gillespie and wife Maria of Horseshoe, NC; great nephew and great nieces, Joey, Jessica, and Misty Dawn Guthrie of Horseshoe, NC. The family of Mary G. Everhart will receive friends in the Morris-Baker North Chapel from 6 to 7:30 PM Thursday, January 28, 2010. A Memorial Service will follow at 7:30 PM in the North Chapel. Rev. Jim Nipper will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be sent to Our Savior Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 3160 CRS, Johnson City, TN 37602 or to Interfaith Hospitality Network, 208 W. Fairview Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37604
