Pauline Sells Cox of Johnson City died Thursday, May 5, 2016, after an extended illness. She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of the late William Abraham and Hattie Tolley Sells. Mrs. Cox was a secretary with the former Volunteer Natural Gas Company, now Atmos Energy, for over 27 years. She was a member of Tacoma Church of God for over 60 years. Mrs. Cox was a soft spoken, kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. In addition to her parents, her husband, Oscar Cox; her son, Bobby Gene Cox; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Cox; sisters, Jewell Sells Harlan and Agnes Arney; a brother, A. Jay Sells; a brother-in-law, James Lee Harlan, and a nephew William Andrew Sells preceded her in death. Survivors include: a grandson and his wife, Mr. & Mrs. Rob Cox, of Indiana; two great granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Sidney Cox, of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews including Jan Harlan Gibbons and Bobby of Kingsport, James Lee Harlan II and Donna of Jonesborough; Walden Sells Sifford and Tony of Jonesborough; and a sister in law, Ethel Sells of Johnson City. The family of Pauline Sells Cox will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Monday, May 9, 2016, in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 PM with Mr. James Lee Harlan II officiating. The graveside committal service will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace FWB Church CHPS Program.
