Addie Dye

Addie L. Dye, 86, Four Oaks Healthcare Center, Jonesborough, died Monday, October 17, 2005 at the Center. Mrs. Dye was a native of Mountain City, TN and moved to Johnson City in 1925. She was a daughter of the late John and Lucy Lawson Dunn and was also preceded in death by her husband, M.J. Dye, Sr., three sons, David M. Dye, Donald W. Dye and Jett Dye, Jr. and one sister, Ruth Dotson. Mrs. Dye was a retired employee of the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a Baptist. Mrs. Dye is survived by one daughter, Nancy Carr, Gray; two sons, James H. Dye and Richard Dye both of Jonesborough; one sister, Eunice Johnson, Bristol, TN; twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mrs. Dye will be conducted at 8 PM Wednesday from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. Reverend Darrell Slagle will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM Thursday at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 12:30 PM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her daughter, Nancy Carr, 3321 Knob Creek Road, Gray, TN.
