Agnes King

January 16, 1921 — July 13, 2007

Agnes King, 86, 441 McKee Road, Piney Flats, died Friday July 13, 2007 in the NHC Health Care Center. Mrs. King was a native and lifelong resident of Piney Flats . She was the daughter of the late Samuel 'Sam'? B. and Katie Torbett Snapp. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Toy H. Snapp and two sisters, Billie Phillips and Margie Snapp. Mrs. King was a Floral Designer and had worked at numerous florists. She was a member of the New Bethel Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: her husband, Howard L. King; one daughter, Claudia and her husband Mickey Church, of Columbia, South Carolina; one son, Dwight and his wife Pam King, of Piney Flats; two grandchildren, Matt M. Church and his wife Jennie and Kara S. Church; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Agnes King will be conducted at 8 PM Saturday, July 14, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. Andrew Spence, minister will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 2 PM Sunday, July 15, 2007 in the Torbett Family Cemetery. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 PM Sunday. Active pallbearers will be Bill Snapp, Bob Hudson, Harold Barns, Phil Henson, Bill Davis, and Steve King. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Saturday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the New Bethel Presbyterian Church Building Fund,592 New Bethel Road, Piney Flats, TN. 37686 The family would like to extend special appreciation to the Staff at NHC Health Care Center of Johnson City and Caris of Johnson City for their loving care and concern for Mrs. King.
