Albert T. Jarnagin, Sr.

July 5, 1923 — May 15, 2006

Albert T. 'A.T. ' Jarnagin, Sr. 82, 513 Orleans Street, died Monday, May 15, 2006 at his residence. Mr. Jarnagin was a native of Morristown, TN and had lived in Johnson City since 1947. He was a son of the late Allen Jarnagin and was also preceded in death by one brother, Bill Branton. Mr. Jarnagin was retired employee of Sterchi Brothers Furniture Company and later worked for the Johnson City School System for many years. He was a member of Eastern Gate Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Jarnagin was survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Vaultie Miller Jarnagin; one daughter, Kathy Johnson and her husband, Gary, Bristol, VA; two sons, Reverend Albert Jarnagin, Jr. and his wife, Debra, Johnson City and Roger Jarnagin, Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Lorrie Wilson, Sandy Gass, Nikki Jarnagin, Allen Jarnagin and Danny Rasnick; four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Hayley, Jon and Katie; two sisters-in-law, Hugette Branton, St. Louis, MO and Lola Honeycutt, Burnsville, NC; one niece and two nephews. A funeral service for Mr. Jarnagin will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, May 18, 2006 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Dr. Kenneth Jordan, Reverend Greg Garland and Reverend Dan Case will officiate. Music will be provided by the Pruitt family. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Friday, May 19, 2006 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Johnson, Terry Gass, Allen Jarnagin, Danny Rasnick, Millard Wilson and Eddie Honeycutt. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. The family expresses a special thanks to Dr. Frank Johnson and the staff of Medical Center Hospice for their excellent care of Mr. Jarnagin.
