Albertine Bailey

Albertine Thornton Bailey, age 85, formerly of 3029 Mayfield Drive, Johnson City, Tennessee, died Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Life Care Center, Gray, Tennessee. She was a native of Unicoi County, Tennessee and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Polly Ann Davis and Theo Thornton. She had been a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mrs. Bailey had retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center as a nurse?s aide. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Bailey, Sr. in 1997; a son, James Bailey; two sisters, Mamie LaFollette and Virginia Curtis and three brothers, Anderson Thornton, Cecil Thornton and Buster Thornton. She is survived by a daughter, Judy B. Jones of Knoxville; two sons, Robert Bailey, Jr. and George Bailey; both of Johnson City; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Bailey will be held Thursday, October 19, at 2:30 PM in Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 until 2:30, prior to the service. Graveside services and burial will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
