Andrew Neal Wilmot, age 18 of 1706 Galen Drive, Johnson City, Tennessee, died Saturday in Hamblen County, Tennessee, as the result of an automobile accident. He was the son of Tammie Broyles Ruston and David Neal Wilmot. He was a native of Johnson City but had lived in McDonough, Georgia from the eighth grade until he graduated from Henry County High School in 2005. He was a member of Westerly Heights Baptist Church in Johnson City. Andrew was an avid baseball player and had played at Henry County High School before entering Walter State Community College where he was on a baseball scholarship. Andrew was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joyce Virginia Wilmot and Richard Neal Wilmot and by his maternal grandfather, Don Broyles and his maternal great grandmother, Bernice Broyles. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a maternal great grandmother, Loreene Watson, a grandmother, Barbara Broyles, both of Johnson City; his mother, Tammie B. Ruston of McDonough, Georgia and his father, David Wilmot of Churchill; two brothers, Christopher Wilmot and Houston Wilmot of Churchill, Tennessee; two aunts, Jennifer Tester and her husband Danny; Scottye Broyles and George White; cousins, Hunter Tester and MaryGrace Tester, all of Johnson City; two great aunts, Diane Broyles and Christine Blevins both of Johnson City; great uncles, David Broyles and his wife Pat of Atlanta and Douglas Broyles and his wife Joyce of Jennings, Louisiana. Funeral services for Andrew Neal Wilmot will be held Sunday at 4:00 PM at Southwestern Baptist Church with Richard Lewis and John Jones officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 until 4:00 PM at the church. Graveside services and burial will be Monday at Noon at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to gather at Morris-Baker at 11:30 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers are Shaun Pounds, Greg Huff, Austin Peacock, Wyatt Breeding, Brandon Howard, Michael Forney, Bryce King, Brandon Shoun, Matt Green, Matt Cannon , Hunter Tester, Timmy Hodge and Jamie Ruston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either Johnson City Parks and Recreation Baseball Program, 601 East Main Street, Johnson City, TN 37601, attn: Kenny Arrowood, or to Henry County High School Baseball Program, 401 E. Tomlinson Street, McDonough, Georgia 30253, Attn: Jason Shadden; to Walter State Community College Baseball Program, 500 Davy Crockett Parkway, Morristown, TN 37813-6899, attn: Ken Campbell or to any other charity of the donors choice, in memory of Andrew Neal Wilmot.
