Anna Jane Torbett

January 16, 1922 — January 17, 2013

Anna Jane Torbett, 91, of Piney Flats, died at her residence on Thursday, January 17, 2013. She was a native of Piney Flats, daughter of the late Roy Lee and Mary Agnes Jeeter Glover. Anna Jane was a homemaker and co-owner of F. J. Torbett Plant Farm. She was a member of the New Bethel Presbyterian Church and was dedicated to the church circle and choir. She was also an active member of the Sullivan County Ladies Farm Bureau. Anna Jane was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband, Farrell J. Torbett in 1990 and her oldest son, Stephen Torbett in 1969. Survivors include: her two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Marcia Torbett and Phillip and Denise Torbett all of Piney Flats; a sister, Mary Lee Crussell also of Piney Flats; three grandchildren, Richie Torbett, Paige Phifer and Colby Torbett; four great grandchildren, McKayla Torbett, A. J. Torbett, Merea Stine and Marcus Stine; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her two special caregivers, Yvonne Gross and Connie Johnson. A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, January 21, 2013 at 12:30 pm at New Bethel Presbyterian Church, under the direction of Rev. Eric Spoon. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until time of service at 12:30 pm. Special music will be provided by her great granddaughter, McKayla Torbett. A committal service will follow in the New Bethel Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Dean Torbett, Wayne Torbett, Larry Torbett, Bob Treadway, James Sanders and Don Barker. Memorials may be made to the New Bethel Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 592 New Bethel Road, Piney Flats, TN 37686.
