Anna Trivette Anna Katherine Howren Trivette, age 77, of 1505 Rotherwood Dr., Johnson City, died Monday, October 10, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and the daughter of the late John C. and Golden Brown Howren. Anna Katherine graduated from Science Hill High School in 1945 and the University of Tennessee in 1949. Prior to her retirement, she had been an elementary school teacher in the Johnson City School System, having taught at North Side, Southside and Stratton Elementary Schools. A lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, Anna Katherine was an active member of the Ann King Sunday School Class and Circle #1. She had also been an active member of the Johnson City Civinette Club and a member of the Johnson City Education Association. Anna Katherine is survived by her husband, York Trivette; two daughters, Lisa Smalling and her husband, John, Laura Hampton and her husband, Keith; one brother, John Howren, all of Johnson City; two sisters, Rita Davis, of Johnson City, and Sarah Hawkins of Lenoir, North Carolina; three grandsons, Brad Smalling, Clemson, South Carolina, Todd Smalling and Davis Hampton, both of Johnson City; along with several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Don Muncie, Rev. Baron Eliason and Dr. Angus Shaw officiating. Fellowship with family and friends will follow the service in the Holston Room at First Presbyterian Church. Private graveside services and burial will be at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Brad Smalling, Todd Smalling, Carter Davis, Ralph Hawkins, John Hawkins, David Howren, Todd Howren and Bill Conant. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to 'The River,' a local women?s ministry of First Presbyterian Church, 105 South Boone St., Johnson City, TN 37604; or to American Parkinson?s Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, New York 10305.
