Atlas Renfro

Atlas Renfro, 81, 222 Max Jett Road, died Friday, May 4, 2007 at the Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Mrs. Renfro was a native of Yancey County, NC and had lived in Johnson City for several years. She was a daughter of the late Tilmon and Alma Renfro. Four sisters and one brother preceded Mrs. Renfro in death. She was a member of South Bend Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Stephen Renfro and his wife Kathy, Johnson City; Freddie Renfro, Cleveland, TN; one sister, Virginia Peterson, Jonesborough; six grandchildren, Rebecca Renfro, Roanoke, VA, Katherine Renfro, Johnson City, Stephanie Maupin, Johnson City, Tracey Myers, Bluff City, TN and Shelia and Freddie, Fairbanks, Alaska; fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mrs. Renfro will be conducted at 7 PM Monday, May 7, 2007 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. Reverend Johnie Widner will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM Monday at the funeral home. The family expresses a special thanks to the staff of the Life Care Center of Elizabethton and family friend, Judy Vines. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Johnson City, TN 37601.
