Barbara Lee Britt

December 18, 1943 — April 2, 2014

Barbara Lee Moffitt Britt, 70, of Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Vester and Pearl Moffitt. In addition to her parents, her sister, Ruth Moffitt Nave, her brothers, June, Malone, Bruce, and Howard Moffitt, preceded her in death. Barbara was a homemaker and a member of River of Life Baptist Church. She loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She truly loved spending time with her family. Survivors include: her husband of 55 years, Worley Britt Jr.; one daughter, Penny Nave and her husband Keith, of Elizabethton; two sons, Mike Britt and his wife Diane, of Jonesborough, and Jeff Britt and his wife Treva, of Johnson City; six grandchildren, Brandon Nave, Nicole Britt, Derrick Nave, Adam Britt, Taylor Britt, and Lindsay Britt; two great grandchildren, Braydon Britt and Miley Bowling; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Betty Leonard, Joyce and J. D. Buck, Joe and Nancy Ferrell, Lee McInturff, and Nancy Hall. The Britt family would like to express a special thank you to nurses at Johnson City Medical Center and Franklin Woods Community Hospital for their care and comfort for Barbara. The family of Mrs. Barbara Britt will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Saturday, April 5, 2014, at River of Life Baptist Church, 819 North Austin Springs Rd., Piney Flats, TN 37686. The funeral service will be conducted at 7 PM Saturday at the church. Mr. Donnie Humphreys, minister, will officiate. The committal service is scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Roselawn Memorial Park. Minister, family, and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker by 1:15 PM Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery for those services. Active pallbearers will be Mike Britt, Jeff Britt, Keith Nave, Brandon Nave, Derrick Nave, and Adam Britt. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Britt, Terry Britt, JD Buck, and Donald Adkins. Barbara had a passionate love for animals and had a special place in her heart for her dogs, Delilah, Bam Bam, Pebbles, Bandit, and Zoe.
