Belle Cylesta Fletcher

Belle Cylesta Fletcher, 100, 111 Happy Valley Road, Johnson City died Sunday, March 12, 2006 in the Asbury Place. Miss Fletcher was a native of Wilder, VA and had lived in Carter County, Tennessee since the mid 1940?s. She was a daughter of the late Albert Dolan and Anna Lilly Bott Fletcher. She was an active and longtime member of the Sinking Creek Baptist Church. She had celebrated her 100th Birthday Party at the church in 2005. Miss Fletcher loved her family, loved to garden, grow pretty flowers and cook for family, friends and neighbors. She was an avid Bible reader and taught hundreds of children in Sunday School throughout her life. She took great pride in the fact that several of her students went on to become ministers. She was a joyful soul and had a great sense of humor. Above all, Miss Fletcher?s greatest love was loving and serving her GOD. Miss Fletcher is preceded in death by: her parents; two sisters, Mae Holmes and Vergie Reese; two brothers, Orville Fletcher and Willard Fletcher. Survivors include: two sisters-in-law, Laura Fletcher and Ruth Fletcher, both of Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Belle Cylesta Fletcher will be conducted at 7 PM Tuesday, March 14, 2006 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Reece Harris will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM Wednesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the funeral chapel at 10:30 AM Wednesday to go in procession. Active pallbearers will be men from the Sinking Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 7 PM Tuesday, prior to the service. The family request that memorials be sent to the Sinking Creek Baptist Church, 2313 Elizabethton Highway, Johnson City,TN 37601. The family would like to express their appreciation to Friends and neighbors, Steve and Jean Whittington, Dorothy and Dean Proffitt, John and Beulah Hambert and all the staff at Asbury Place.
