Bernice O. Church, 83, 1607 Ferrell Drive, Johnson City died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at her residence. Mrs. Church was a native of Carter County and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Russell and Grace Tucker Miller. She was a retired employee of Texas Instruments. Mrs. Church was a member of the Kings Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Church is preceded in death by; her parents, her husband Lawrence 'Barney' Church in 1962; two sons, Bobby Church and Joe Church; one daughter Linda Church; and one brother Halter Miller. Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Velda Church of Elizabethton, Larry and Susie Church of Johnson City; three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Donald Bryant ,Glenda and Don Grindstaff, and Norma and Lowell Cornett, all of Johnson City; one daughter-in-law, Freda Church of Johnson City; three sisters, Willie Sweeney, Dorothy Perry and Ollie Maupin, all of Johnson City. Thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Bernice O. Church will be conducted at 8 PM Monday, April 4, 2005 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Clarence Phillips will officiate. Music will be by the Moore?s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church Choir. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM Tuesday in the Roselawn Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the funeral chapel at 10:30 AM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Alan Colyar, Dr. Kenneth Weaver, Joe Owens, Joe Ferrell, Gene Sweeney, Gary Sweeney, Muriel Perry, Jr., Benny Lovelace, Don Davis, Ron Saults, Charlie Grindstaff, 'Bo' Grindstaff, Roger Maupin, Roy Maupin, Harold Maupin, Randall Maupin, and Glen Maupin. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Monday prior to the service. The family wish to express a Special Thank You to the Heartfelt Home Care, special nurses Bette Campbell, Lisa Dugger, Jackie Libby, Donna Laws, Beth Messer, Christina Pereira, Karen Tuttle, and the Staff and Physicians at the Johnson City Medical Center.
