Betty Wen Brown

January 8, 1943 — June 29, 2012

Mrs. Betty Owen Brown, went to be with the Lord Friday, June 29, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Johnson City, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Ray and Nellie Hodge Williams. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Rush Brown; first husband Dale Cox; son Matt Cox; sister Georgia Lee Bacon; and six brothers, Lester, Buford, Wayne, Bobby, Jimmy, and Wesley Williams. She is survived by her two sons, Terry G. Cox and wife Debra of Piney Flats and Shannon D. Cox and wife Amber of Johnson City; step son Roy Brown and wife Chris of Johnson City; six grandchildren, Dustin, Josh, Christopher, Matthew, Michael and Erica Cox; six step grandchildren, Denise, Scott, Beth, Greg, Pat, and Angie; one great granddaughter, Chloe Madison Cox; sister Linda Sweney and her husband Bob; brother Dewey Williams and his wife Marie; daughter-in-law Sharon Cox; sister-in-laws, JoAnn, Loretta, Geneva, Betty, Brenda, and Nancy; brother-in-laws, Danny and Gordon; Aunt Margie; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends, Monday, July 2, 2012, from 6:00-8:00pm at Morris Baker Funeral Home with services immediately following at 8:00pm with Rev. Sam Campbell and her cousin Buster Hodge officiating. Burial will be held, Tuesday, 11am, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons. Special honorary pallbearers there are too many to mention. Special thank you to friends, family, and the physicians and nurses who provided care to Betty. Memorials may be made to any cancer research, childrens hospitals, or local animal shelter in Mrs. Bettys memory.
