Billy Joe Hensley, 66, of 3019 Mayfield Drive, Johnson City, died Thursday, May 24, 2007 at his residence. He was a native of Limestone, son of the late, Robert Dean and Geneva Lucille Parks Hensley. Billy was a drywall installer belonged to the Faith Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include: his wife, Della Hilton Hensley of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Melissa Jean and Michael Slemp of Butler, Deborah Lynn and Terry Freeman of Elizabethton and Angela Anette Hensley of Johnson City; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Joyce Hensley of Jonesborough, Buster and Cricket Hensley of Limestone; eight grandchildren, Dalton and Jesse Slemp, Brandon, April, Aaron and Matthew Hensley, Taylor and Morgan Pankonie; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, May 25, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Tom Lawson and Rev. Glenn Hoilman. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Saturday, May 26, 2007 in the Maplelawn Cemetery in Jonesborough at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 10:20 a.m. to leave in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Brian Maupin, Terry Freeman, Michael Slemp, Jesse Slemp, Dalton Slemp and Brandon Hensley, honorary pallbearers will be: Carson Mitchell, Carl Syned, Jack Hemphill, Larry Maupin. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
