Billy N. Hoss

Mr. Billy N. Hoss, age 82, of Jonesborough, passed away on October 26, 2012, in the James H. Quillen VAMC Nursing Home. Mr. Hoss was a native of Sullivan County who had lived most of his life in Johnson City and Jonesborough. He was the son of the late Roy E. Hoss and Ida Belle Russell Hoss. In addition to his parents his wife of over fifty years, Louise Hoss; one sister, Jewel Hoss; four brothers, James Hoss, Raymond Hoss, Harry Hoss and Bob Hoss also preceded him in death. Mr. Hoss was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a retired salesperson. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. Mr. Hoss enjoyed gospel music, country music and collecting antiques. Survivors include one son, Billy Hoss and his wife Robin of Chuckey; one sister, Katie Hoss of California; three brothers, George Hoss of Detroit, Guy Hoss of California and Charles Hoss of Jonesborough; one great niece, Brittany Pendergrass of Jonesborough; two great nephews, Jordan Pierce of Gray and Jeremy Marlor of Jonesborough; five sisters-in-laws, Linda Pierce of Gray, Jean King of Piney Flats, Jane Howell of Johnson City, Carol Grindstaff of Jonesborough and Sherry Deakins of Jonesborough; one brother-in-law, Phil Ramsey. The funeral service for Mr. Billy N. Hoss will be conducted at 8 PM Monday October 29, 2012, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Barry Reed will officiate. Terry Roberts will provide music. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 1 PM Tuesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 will accord military honors. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 PM Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday prior to the service.
