Bonnie 'Nan'? Elizabeth Howell Dotson born November 19, 1922 went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 18, 2011 after a lengthy illness at her home in Gray.She was a native of Sullivan County and lived most of her life in Washington County. She was a daughter of the late Walter and Leota Howell.She was a devote Christian and studied her Bible daily. Mrs. Dotson was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Jonesborough. Not only was she a devoted Christian but she was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She not only raised her only son but also her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Wesley Dotson and her son, James Douglas Dotson.She is survived by her grandchildren, Mitchell R. Dotson and his wife Kasey of Port Hueneme, CA, and his children, Douglas and Caitlin, Michelle R. Hensley of Gray and her children Catherine, David and Abigail, Tiffany D. Hensley of Gray and her children, Jacob Painter and Shelby Mowdy and step Granddaughters Erica Hensley and Ellie Grenell; her sisters, Lillie Mae Overbay of Kingsport and Dorothy Talley of Piney Flats and one brother, James Howell of Washington D. C. She will be greatly missed by the many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends that loved her. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Tuesday from the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. A procession will leave for the cemetery at 1:45 pm Tuesday from Morris-Baker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 pm on Tuesday.
