Burleigh Claude Gray

November 6, 1925 — March 30, 2016

.Burleigh C. Gray, 90, of Gray, died on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the NHC of Johnson City. He was a native of Bristol, TN, son of the late Burleigh C. SR and Lynn Mongle Gray. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Burleigh was a retired employee of the Kingsport Press for 37 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U. S. Army. Burleigh was on the board of the Kingsport Press Credit Union for 39 years. He also farmed while working at other endeavors. In addition to his parents, a brother, Fred Gray and three sisters, Mildred Gray Watts, Jessie Gray Mitchell and Thelma Gray Barnes, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Charlotte Horton Gray of the home; two sons, Jeffrey Gray of Kingsport, Gregory B. Gray and his wife Jackie of Greenback, TN; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Todd Osborne of Kingsport; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Esther Gray of Sandston, VA, John and Dot Gray of Colorado Springs, CO; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean Gray Williams and Norman of Blountville, Margaret Gurley of Roanoke, VA; five grandchildren, Greg Gray, Jr., Joshua (wife, Danielle) Osborne; Jordon Osborne, Julianne Osborne and Clarissa Gray; two great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Cambrie Osborne; several nieces and nephews; three caregivers, Moonik Harris, Laverne Mahoney and Sylvia Begley. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 12:30pm until 2:00pm at the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the Dogwood Chapel at 2:00pm under the direction of Dr. Jim Richter. A committal service will be conducted at the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
