Canna Faith Rutherford

Canna F. Rutherford, 70, of 705 Hiwasee Hills Drive, Johnson City, died Friday, April 13, 2007 at the Northside Hospital. She was a native of Washington County, daughter of the late James Blaine Greene and Mrs. Velma Cole Greene. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Broad. Canna was a senior claims representative for the Social Security Administration for forty years and was a former Washington County Commisioner. She was active in many community projects and numerous civic organizations including, the Business and Professional Womens Club, the Washington County Republican Party, a former board member of both the Johnson City Power Board and the Washington County Boys and Girls Club. Canna attended the First Christian Church of Johnson City. Survivors include her mother, Velma C. Greene of Jonesborough; her son, Michael P. Rutherford and her grandson, Michael P. Rutherford, II both of Johnson City; two brothers and three sisters; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was conducted on Monday, April 16, 2007 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park, under the direction of Mr. Dave Roberts. Active pallbearers were, deputies of the Washington County Sherriff?s office. Honorary pallbearers were, Steve Greene, Joe L. Wilson, Bob Campbell, Chuck Rutherford, Dylan Rutherford and Leonard Mohan.
