Carl D. Miller

February 21, 1917 — December 16, 2006

Mr. Miller was a native of Washington County who had lived all his life in Johnson City.He was a son of the late William A. Miller and Amanda Yarbor Miller. He was also precded in death by his wife Mae Gibbs Miller in 1982. He was retired from Burlington Industries. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Miller was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include: two daughters, Barbara Harvey and her husband Bill and Janice Jones and her husband Robert, of Johnson City; two sisters, Violet Church, of Johnson city, and Romaine Smith, of Akron, OH.; five grandchildren, Gary Harvey, of Jonesborough, Darren Harvey, of Gastonia, NC., Regina Harvey, of Kingsport, Jennifer Story, of Knoxville, and Steve Jones, of Unicoi; five great grandchildren, Ariel and Gatlin Harvey, Michaela and Seth Jones, and Ashton Story. Special friend, Mona Ray. Several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Carl D. Miller will be conducted at 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 19, 2006 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Pastor Steve Guinn and Pastor Donald Page will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the funeral chapel at 10:30 AM Wednesday to go in procession. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday prior to the service. The family will also visit other times at the daughters , Barbara 1312 Huffine Rd. and Janice 168 Poplar Hills Drive.
