Carl E. Jack Mckay

October 6, 1932 — February 10, 2014

Mr. Carl E. 'Jack'? McKay, age 81, of Gray, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014, in the Appalachian Christian Village following a brief illness. Mr. McKay was a native of Morristown. He was the son of the late Carl Edgar and Vallie Harmon McKay. In addition to his parents, two sisters, Bobbie Ann McKay and Gerri McKay Range also preceded him in death. Jack was a retired employee of Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, having worked there for many years. He was a veteran of the US Navy, and served during the Korean War. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Johnson City. Jack was also an avid fan of the University of Tennessee football team and, in later years, the mens and womens basketball teams. He is survived by his sister, Frances McKay; nephew, Chuck Range; several cousins; and his special friends, Thelma McCaskill, the Bob McInturff family, Randy and Sheila Cloyd, and Brian and Kathy Carr. The family of Mr. Carl E. 'Jack'? McKay will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 1 PM Friday, February 14, 2014, at Morris-Baker. The graveside committal service will follow at 1:45 PM in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Please be at Morris-Baker no later than 1 PM if attending the graveside service to be in the funeral procession. Dr. Ron Murray will officiate. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the Pepsi Cola employees. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Central Baptist Church Joy Choir or Esther Sunday School Class, 300 N. Roan Street, Johnson City TN 37601.
