II Corinthians 5:8 Carolyn S. Mackie, 61, was taken to be with the Lord and her loving husband Eugene E. Mackie, on Saturday, January 20, 2007 following continued health problems. She was born in Washington County, TN and lived most of her life in Kingsport, TN. Carolyn was a steward of kindness and love and will be deeply missed by all those who where blessed with the chance to know such a beautiful, caring woman. Mrs. Mackie was a good and faithful wife, devoted daughter, great mother, mother-in-law and friend. She and family were members of Unaka Avenue Baptist Church in Johnson City, TN. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by father, Jesse H. Staten and mother, Hazel W. Staten. She is survived by one son, Kevin E. Mackie, of Knoxville, TN, and one daughter Angela B. Ogilvie and husband Mark, of Kingsport, TN. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 24, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home in Johnson City, TN. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 25, at Tanglewood Cemetery in Linville, NC. The family requests that any memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, be made to Tanglewood Cemetery c/o Ramona Sturgill, Walt Garland Road, Linville, NC, 28646 (828-733-6238) or local animal shelter. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
