Carolyn Sue Young Clayton, Jonesborough, passed away Saturday, November 03, 2018, at her residence. Carol was born on August 20, 1943 in Elizabethton to the late Robert and Martha Young. Carol grew up in Wayne, MI, and moved back to Johnson City in September 2000. Carol retired from the VA in Michigan after 21 years as the human resources supervisor. Carol really loved the Lord, and he was her strength. She was a good woman and loved Ray and her family so much. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by: her precious son, Charles Raymond Clayton, Jr., in 1972 at the age of five; sister, Nora Belle Young Brittian and her husband Dewey; brothers, Dana Lee Young and his wife Jean; and one brother-in-law, Dick Peters. Survivors include: her sweet husband and friend for over 55 years, Ray Clayton; brothers, David Young and his wife Pud, of Rogersville, Joseph Robert Young and his wife Kay, of Highland, MI, Jerry Wayne Young and his wife Louise, of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Bettie Peters, of Johnson City, Wilma Rose Molitor and her husband Jim, of Colorado Springs, CO; many very special nieces and nephews; two doggies, Rocky and Princess; and many special praying friends. The family of Carol Clayton will receive friends from 5 PM until 6 PM Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at Morris-Baker. The funeral will follow at 6 PM with Rev. Reggie Weems officiating. The committal service will be held at 10 AM Thursday at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate.
