Carrier Sr. Joe Lee

Joe Lee Carrier, Sr., 73, of 502 Bacon Branch Road, Jonesborough, died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. He was a native of Johnson City, son of the late, Everette H. 'E.H.' and Lena Greene Carrier and had lived in the Jonesborough area for the last 30 years. Joe was retired from Sears as a repair technician and also the U. S. Air Force after 20 years service and was a veteran of the Viet Nam War. He had attended the Cherokee Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Amlotte Carrier, a son, Joe Lee Carrier, Jr. and a granddaughter, Misty Carrier. Survivors include: a son, Rev. Scott Carrier and his wife, Gloria of Grapevine, Texas; three daughters, Therese Carrier of Franklin, Brenda Carrier and her husband, Michael Tibble of Johnson City and Stephanie Carrier of the home; a step-daughter, Lane Williams of Eulas, Texas; two brothers, Ivan Eugene Carrier and his wife, Doris and Ralph P. Carrier and his wife June all of Johnson City; three sisters, Blanche Rose, Imogene Chappell and her husband, Bill and Betty Wilkinson and her husband, Tom all of Johnson City; two grandsons, Scotty and Nathan Carrier; two great grandchildren, Stephen and Tiffany Carrier; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Rev. Phil Gass The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Sunday, May 14, 2006 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m. Military honors will be provided by the VFW post #3382, Kingsport. Pallbearers will be: Scotty and Nathan Carrier, Jeff Cooper, Tim Carrier, Steve Rose and Chris Cooper. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jerry Rose, Jason Wilkinson, Derek Carrier, Terry McCurry, Jeff Payne, Rick Teague, Jack Perkins and Ben Rodifer. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
