Charles David Ford

April 6, 1960 — June 5, 2015

Mr. Charles D. Ford, 55, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015, in the Johnson City Medical Center. Charles was a lifelong resident of Johnson City. He was the son of the late Hallie P. Ford. Charles graduated from Science Hill High School in 1977. He graduated from Northeast State in 2007 with an Associate of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, a field he worked in his entire life. He worked at Alemite Corporation for 37 years, honing his craft as a machinist and toolmaker. Charles was an avid fisherman, often found on Boone Lake searching for Bass. He loved the outdoors, was an expert gardener, and was especially good at mentoring youth in the community. He was a beloved father, grandfather, husband and friend. He was always willing to help someone in need no matter what the circumstances were and he had a knack for fixing anything around. He touched the lives of everyone he met and as the old saying goes, ?Only the good die young'. He will live fondly in our hearts forever. In addition to his mother, one brother, Ron Ford, preceded Charles in death. Survivors include his wife of thirty-two years, Cynthia Ford; daughter, Tiffany Ford and her husband Jordan P. Barnette; two sisters, Cathy T. Bates and her husband Rick and Beverly Salts; one grandchild, Charles Kerrigan Barnette; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews. The family of Mr. Charles D. Ford will receive friends from 7 to 8 PM Tuesday, June 9, 2015, in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 8 PM with Rev. Scott Greene officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Shriners, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.
