II Timothy 4:7, I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. Charles Noah Ramsey, of 341 Chambers Drive, Elizabethton, beloved brother and son, went to be with his Lord and Savior at 3:30 PM on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at the James H. Quillen V. A. Medical Center in Johnson City following an estended illness. During his short time on this earth Charles devoted a lot of his energy helping the elderly and the needy, even after a brain tumor made him disabled. Before he went completely bedridden with his illness. Charles loved his fellow church goers and he loved the Lord. A native of Philadelphia, PA he had lived in Johnson City since 1968 and in Elizabethton since 2000. He was a son of Jacqueline Ramsey of Panama City, Fla., and the late Alvin Ramsey, Jr. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alvin Ramsey, Sr. and Kate Ramsey, his maternal grandparents, Thomas Braithwaite and Martha Kelley. He graduated from Science Hill High School, was a clubhouse boy with the Johnson City Cardinals from 1975-1977, and was a U. S. Army veteran. Survivors in addition to his mother include; two brothers, Bobby Ramsey of London, England and Lenny Ramsey of Johnson City; one sister, Martha Haws of Panama City, Fla.; a special family he leaves behind who cared for him these many years of his illness, Levi and Lucy Hochstetler and Lillian Demery. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 14, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Jerry Carver and Rev. Kenneth Thacker. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal will be conducted in the U.S. National Cemetery at Mt. Home, times will be announced at the funeral service.
