Charles Warren, Sr.

Mr. Charles Warren, Sr., age 64, 117 Bowman Road, Johnson City, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011 in the Johnson City Medical Center, after an extended illness. Mr. Warren was native of Allegany County, Maryland who had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was the son of the late James Warren, Sr. and Wilhelminia Hager Warren. In addition to his parents one brother, Robert Warren also preceded him in death. Mr. Warren retired from Snap-On Tools in Johnson City after twenty-eight years of service. He attended Keystone Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Warren enjoyed fishing. Survivors include: his loving wife of forty-one years, Dorothy Warren of the home; one daughter, Kimberly Ray and her husband Kenneth of Elizabethton; one son, Charles Warren, Jr. of the home; one sister, Betty Lou Tibbs and her husband Frank of Limestone; six brothers, James Warren, Jr. and his wife Linda of Jonesborough, Bill Warren and his wife Judy of Kingsport, Rick Warren and his wife Kathy of Johnson City, Dave Warren and his wife Nelly of Johnson City, Tom Warren and special friend Gregory of Johnson City and Danny Warren and his wife Sharon of Jonesborough; three grandchildren, Andi Warren, Alex Ray and Alyssa Ray; special sisters-in-law, Bonnie Warren of Georgia and Lisa Booher of Piney Flats; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mr. Charles Warren, Sr. will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, March 17, 2011 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Bill Greer and Rev. Terry Jones will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Friday in the Lyons Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Johnson City, Tn. 37601.
