Charlotte Street

Mrs. Charlotte Street, 74, of Johnson City, formerly of Ranch Road, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011. She was a native of Mitchell County, NC and had lived in Johnson City for the past 49 years. Charlotte had made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Ron Ledwell, for the last three years. Charlotte was a loving wife and mother. She was a longtime employee and retiree of CVS and a member of Keystone Free Will Baptist Church. Charlotte was an inspiration to family, friends and caregivers. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Flora Garland Street and was preceded in death by her husband, Wilder, in 2005; brother, Paul Street; and an infant sister, Etta Mae Street. Charlotte is survived by two daughters, Sandy (Ron) Ledwell, Johnson City, Betty (Bob) Stooksbury, Alaska; five grandchildren, Zeke Ledwell, Amanda Orzechowski, Ashley Hernandez, Stephen Stooksbury, and Nicole Stooksbury; two great grandchildren, Danae and KC Orzechowski; one brother, Fred Street, Forest City, NC; two sisters, Mary Lee McKay, Columbia, SC, and Doris Bryant, Centerville, VA; many other supportive family members and friends in Johnson City and Buladean, NC; and two special buddies, Sammy and Huey. A funeral service for Charlotte will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 from the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Scott Jenkins and Reverend Bill Greer will officiate. Burial will follow at the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Stephen Stooksbury, Henry Street, Jr., Florian Street, Donald Street, Randy Street, Dennis Street, Gary Street, Floyd Braswell, Junior Hopson and Patrick Blackburn. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 PM at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of her daughter, Sandy Ledwell.
