Christopher Edward Poarch

June 12, 1966 — February 16, 2020

Christopher “Chris” Edward Poarch, age 53, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020 at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Chris was born on June 12, 1966 to Opal Waldrop Poarch and Wayne Poarch in Johnson City. After graduating high school, Chris proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He spent most of his career as a delivery driver for his family’s business, Fast Delivery Service.

Chris was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, CL Waldrop and Pearl Wagner Waldrop and paternal grandparents, Bert Poarch and Vena Holder Poarch.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents; sons, Christopher Poarch, Chase Poarch, and Corey Poarch; daughter, Amber Poarch; brother, Tim (and Michele) Poarch; sister, Deena (and Randal) Widener; and nephew, Matt Widener.

A committal service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 17, 2020 at Mountain Home National Cemetery at the Annex with military honors provided by Boone Dam VFW Post #4933. Please arrive at the cemetery by 12:50 pm to go in procession to the committal shelter.
