Chuck Mason, Sr.

Chuck Mason, Sr. ,76, of 1956 Kings Springs Road, Johnson City died Sunday, July 1, 2007 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Mason was a native of Zebulon, North Carolina and had lived in Johnson City for more then fifty years. He was a son of the late Lerlon 'Jack'? and Mattie Williford Mason. Mr. Mason started into business in the 1950s and retired in 1987 as the Founder and Director Emeritus of the Chuck Mason Equipment Sales. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Mason is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Mason. Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Cross Mason of the home; four sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck 'Eddie'? and Nancy Mason, Jr. of Johnson City, Greg K. and Debbie Mason of Johnson City, Dale A. and Deborah Mason of Sulphur Springs, and W. Brett Mason of Johnson City; one sister, Nell Cousins of Knightdale, NC; five grandchildren, Brandi Helton, Charlie Mason III, Gregory K. Mason, Jr., Benjamin C. Mason, and Helen JoAnn Mason; seven great grandchildren, Taylor Helton, Kade Helton, Gregory 'Scooter'? Mason, Ariel Mason , Caleb Mason, Ethan and Dominick Colt Mason; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Chuck Mason, Sr. will be conducted at 8 PM Wednesday, July 4, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Paul Crowe will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at Morris-Baker at 10:30 AM Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Charlie Mason, Greg Mason, Jr., Ben Mason, Travis Helton, Johnny Mason and Bill Lewis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Rick McDavid and the staff of Family Physicians Associates, Larry Hughes, Ray Lady, 'Big Tom'? Buchanan, Employees of Chuck Mason Equipment Sales and Employees of Clearview Patio Rooms. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, prior to the service. The family would like to extend their greatest appreciation to the Nursing Staff, Doctors, and ICU Staff at North Side Hospital and Johnson City Medical Center.
