Clyde Frank Marcus

Clyde Frank Marcus, 73, 102 East Walnut Street, Johnson City, died Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Johnson City Medical Center of complications from Parkinsons Disease. Mr. Marcus was a son of the late Golman Lee and Rhoda Ellen Guinn Marcus and was raised in Limestone Cove in Unicoi County. Two brothers, Ed Marcus and Glenn Marcus, one sister, Mary Morrell and four half brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Marcus was retired from Sears. He was a member of Walnut Christian Church, an elder in the Christian Church and a Boy Scout Leader. Mr. Marcus graduated from Unicoi County High School and attended Tusculum College. He followed his life long love of singing as a member of the Barbershop Chorus of Johnson City. Survivors include his wife, Lois Fields Marcus; children, Terrell Marcus and his wife, Stacey, Johnson City, Sonja Lyons and her husband, Steve, Johnson City, Travis Marcus and his wife, Theresa, Piney Flats and Shanda Hughes and her husband, Patrick, Johnson City; brothers, John Marcus, Limestone Cove, Gilmer Marcus, Johnson City and Richard Marcus, VA; sisters, Barbara Belcher, GA and Jean Davis, Limestone Cove; grandchildren, Joshua Lyons, Lauren Lyons, Lindsay Marcus, Taylor Marcus, Jordan Marcus, Todd Marcus, Tori Marcus and Hunter Hughes and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mr. Marcus will be conducted at 8 PM Monday, June 2, 2008 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. Pastor Tim Carlson will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 AM. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Following the graveside service family and friends are requested to assemble at the home of Terrell Marcus, 2311 Lark Spur, Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
