Cora Cade

April 4, 1919 — November 15, 2005

Cora Lane Cade, 86, 110 Sneed Hill Road, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mrs. Cade was a daughter of the late Lee Berry Lane and Mary Jane Lane and was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred H. Cade, seven brothers, Charlie, John, Jim, Hobert, Dow Mack, Junior, and O.E. Lane, one sister, Kathleen Necessary and one son-in-law, Danny Seals. She was a native of Big Stone Gap, VA, had lived in Johnson City since 1944 before moving to Elizabethton in 1992. Mrs. Cade was retired from the Johnson City School System and a former employee of East Tennessee State University. She was former member of McKinley Bible Church. Survivors include two sons, Coy E. Lane and his wife, Susie, Elizabethton, James Edward Grasham and his wife, Maeagle, Kinston, TN; one daughter, Betty Ruth Seals, Surgoinsville; two brothers, Judge Lane and his wife, Bell, Clinchport, VA and Orbin Lane, Weber City, VA; two sisters, Stella Berry, Pattonsville, VA and Hazel Darnell and her husband, Walker, Kingsport; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mrs. Cade will be conducted at 2 PM Thursday, November 17, 2005 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home North Chapel. Her grandson, Danny Seals, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
