Daniel Henry Gerard

November 20, 1924 — March 13, 2009

D. H. Gerard, Sr., of Johnson City ,84, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2009 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Saginaw, MI and had lived in Johnson City since 1943. He was a son of the late, Oscar Burton and Bessie Wiltse Gerard. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Cambron Gerard, one daughter, Elizabeth Dellinger, one sister, Marilyn and two brothers, Kenneth and Floyd. Mr. Gerard was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was retired from Summers-Taylor Paving Co., with 38 years of service. Mr. Gerard had served in WW II in the U. S. Air Force. Survivors include; one daughter and her husband, Rachel and Jim Vincill of Mountain City; one son and his wife, Daniel H. Gerard, Jr. and Patricia of Johnson City; four sisters, Elva Boise of Saginaw, MI, Laura Wright of West Branch, MI, Emma Proulx of Grand Rapids, MI and Phyllis Johnson of Shields, MI; Nine Grandchildren, Seven great Grandchildren, various nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 pm Monday, March 16, 2009 from Central Baptist Church. Dr. Ron Murray and Rev. James Cambron will officiate. Burial services will be conducted Tuesday from the Monte Vista Memorial Park at 11:30 am. Active pallbearers will be Grandsons and Nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Stain Glass Class and the Rigell Sunday School Class, all of Central Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00 until 7:30 pm on Monday. The family much appreciates the help and prayers of the Central Baptist Church Stain Glass Class, the Christian Care Center of Johnson City and the 7400 staff of the Johnson City Medical Center.
