David Paul Laughrun

David Paul Laughrun, 40, of 533 Oak Grove Road, Gray, died Saturday in Rockingham, NC as the result of an automobile accident. He was a native of Chickapee County, Massachusetts, son of Paul P. Laughrun and the late Wilma Blevins Laughrun. David was an electrical engineer in the electrical manufacturing business. He was a Daniel Boone graduate and had attended college in North Carolina. David was a member of the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist. He was in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1986 until 1990 and served in the U. S. Army Reserves following his active service. Survivors include: his father, Paul P. Laughrun of the home; two sons and a daughter, Dustin Paul, Michael and Jessica Laughrun all of Gray; a brother, Allen F. Laughrun of Seymour; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Todd McLaughlin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service eight. A committal service will be conducted on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at the Mt. Home National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. All attending are asked to assemble at the cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Kingsport VFW #3382 and the Tennessee National Guard. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
