Deborah Mae “Debbie” Reed, 61, of Chuckey, died Friday, January 17, 2020 at her residence. She was a native of Richmond, VA, daughter of the late Harvey Eugene and Margaret Lelia Birchfield Thompson.
Debbie was a homemaker and former Co-Pastor of the Upper Room Family Worship Center in Johnson City.
In addition to her parents, a sister, Peggy Jean Simmons preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert Eugene Reed; her son and daughter-in-law, Robby and Melissa Reed; two daughters, Bobbie Jean Bailey and Amy Denise Reed; eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; four brothers and four sisters-in-law, Ken and Debra Thompson, James Wesley and Pam Thompson, Johnny and Debbie Thompson and Anthony “Tony” and Debbie Thompson; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Phyllis and Randy Johnson and Linda Hankal; several nieces and nephews and her best friend Jaden her chihuahua.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home in the Maple Room.
A graveside service is scheduled for 3:00 pm in the Malone-Peregoy Cemetery at 347 Malone Road, Watauga. Family and friends are asked to assemble by 2:50 pm. The service will be conducted under the direction of Rev. Tony Thompson and Rev. James Thompson.
Active pallbearers will be: Isaac Byrd, Eddie Peters, Billy Self, Jamie Ingram, Daron Lee and Jon Dugger. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dustin McCurry and Aaron McCurry.
