Dena Karen Smith

Dena Karen Smith, 52, 405 Telford Road, Telford, went to be with the Lord on December 26, 2007 surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Smith was a native of Washington County who had lived most of her life in Jonesborough. She was the daughter of the late John K. and June Hensley Hicks. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one twin sister, Sharon 'Penny'? Henley; one infant sister, Terry Sue Hicks; grandparents, William Carl and Mary Hensley and Harry and Frona Hicks. She was a member of the Chestnut Grove Union Church. Survivors include: one daughter, Amy Piercy and her husband Kevin, of Jonesborough; one sister, Jill Hicks, of Greeneville; one brother, John Hicks, of Jonesborough; one brother-in-law, Raymond Henley, Jonesborough; one uncle, Carl Hensley and his wife Anita, of Jonesborough; two aunts, Fern Green, of Jonesborough and Betty Cox, of Piney Flats; two nieces, Lori Trivette and her husband Jamie and Misty Clawson; three nephews, Wayln Clawson, Brian Clawson and Jason Hensley and his wife Brenda. The special children in her life Derek, Wendy, Troy, Sabrina, Matt, Will and Jordan. Karen will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The funeral service for Dena Karen Smith will be conducted at 1 PM Saturday December 29, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. The committal service will follow in the Fairview cemetery Rev. Greg Davis and Rev. Hollis Ford will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Jason Hensley, Brian Clawson, Derek Trivette, Tommy Dickerson, Raymond Henley, Steve Dickerson and Nathan Tino. Honorary pallbearers will be David Malone and Waylon Clawson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel.
