Dessie Moss, 91, 2117 Spring Street, Gray died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 in the Sunbridge Care Rehab Hillside in Kingsport. Mrs. Moss was a native of Glenville, N.C. and had lived in Johnson City for fifty-seven years. She was a daughter of the late Ottis and Stella Hooper. She was a retired employee of the Veterans Administration at Mountain Home. She was of the Baptist faith and when her health permitted she attended the Wayland Baptist Church. Mrs. Moss is preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, Thomas F. Moss; three brothers, Elmer Hooper, Fred Hooper, and Rad Hooper; two sisters, Elzie Watson and Francis Wall. Survivors include; one daughter, Carolyn Lowe and husband Roy G. Lowe, Sr. of Gray; two sisters, Mary Lee Watson of Sylva, NC and June Hooper of Cullowhee, NC; three grandchildren, Roy G. Lowe, Jr and wife Robin of Gray, Randy Lowe and wife Becky of Sulphur Springs, and Jeanie and Travis Russell of Gray; three great grandsons, Grant Lowe, Jordan Lowe, and Robby Russell; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Dessie Moss will be conducted Friday, March 3, 2006 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Roy G. Lowe, Jr. and Rev. Steve Stockstill will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 12:30 PM to go in procession. Active pallbearers will be Grant Lowe, Jordan Lowe, Randy Lowe, Travis Russell, Rick Dugger and Roy G. Lowe, Sr. Honorary pallbearer will be Willard Malone. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 Pm Friday prior to the service.
