Dewey Payne

Dewey Edward Payne, 78, 125 Payne Loop, died Sunday, June 12, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Payne was a native of Tallahassee, FL and had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was a son of the late Guy and Zella Elliott Payne and was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Mr. Payne was retired from the US Army and was a WWII veteran. Survivors include four daughters, Joyce Cole, Spring City, TN, Linda Lowery, Stoney Creek, Sarah Payne, Johnson City and Anna Moore, Johnson City; fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A military graveside service for Mr. Payne will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN, under the direction of Kingsport Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3382. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
