Carolyn Diane Greene Rutledge, age 68, Johnson City, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, November 3, 2013 following a lengthy illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and a daughter of the late Ronald Earl and Danford Diane Della Walker Greene. Diane attended Johnson City schools and graduated from Science Hill High School in 1963 and East Tennessee State University in 1967. Prior to her teaching career, she served as a missionary in Hellier, KY for two years with the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, ministering to the families and children of the small community. After returning to Johnson City, she served as the Director of the Johnson City Baptist Center of Holston Baptist Association for several years. She also participated in several mission trips with other Southwestern members. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Greene, and brother-in-law, Curtis Swink. Diane is survived by: her loving son, Jeremy Rutledge, and his wife Susie; one precious granddaughter, Emma Grace Rutledge; two sisters, Betty Swink and JoAnn Huff, and her husband Carl; one niece, Robin Ledford; and one great-niece, Ashlee Lawson. The family of Diane Rutledge will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home.
