Dick Lansden Johnson

Dick Lansden Johnson, 93, of Johnson City, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 in the NHC HealthCare Center. Mr. Johnson was a native of Cookeville, TN, a son of the late Hollis and Florence Lansden Johnson. Mr. Johnson served in the US Navy prior to obtaining a law degree from Northwestern University, serving as assistant US attorney in Nashville, and practicing law in East TN for 43 years. He was a longtime member of Watauga Avenue Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Nancy Kaiser Johnson; son, Dick Lansden Johnson, Jr.; brother, Dr. Hollis Johnson; and sister, Mary Ann Johnson Clark. Survivors include: two children, Dr. Sandra Johnson Eggers and husband Dr. Frank Eggers, of Memphis, and Fred K. Johnson and wife Dr. Teresa Keller, of Emory, VA; seven grandchildren, Dr. Leann Eggers Linam and husband Dr. Matt Linam, Hamilton Eggers and wife Ashley, Amanda Johnson and husband Mike Hill, Dr. Brian Lacy Johnson and wife Amanda, Allison Johnson Horne and husband Matt, Annie Johnson Brown and husband Rev. Brad Brown, and Tyler Lansden Johnson and wife Mary; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A private interment service will be at Monte Vista Memorial Park. The family of Dick L. Johnson will receive friends at Morris-Baker Funeral Home from 2 pm until 3 pm Sunday, March 13, 2016. The funeral service will follow at 3 pm Sunday with Rev. George Rolling and Rev. Pat Locke officiating. Steve Shanks will provide special music. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Watauga Avenue Presbyterian Church, 610 E.
