Don L. Higginbotham, 74, 408 Elm Lane, Johnson City died Saturday, December 31, 2005 at his residence. Mr. Higginbotham was a native of Erwin and had lived in Johnson City since 1953. He was a son of the late Jefferson Bane and Ethel Elizabeth Lloyd Higginbotham. He was a former employee of Smith-Higgins Wholesale Drug Co. Mr. Higginbotham was a member and former deacon of Harrison Christian Church. He is preceded in death by: his parents ; a son, Donald Joe Higginbotham in 2001; and three brothers, Kenneth, Harold and Bobby Higginbotham. Survivors include: his wife, Betty Garland Higginbotham of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Pam Higginbotham of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Amy Kuntz and Christopher Higginbotham, both of Johnson City and Brandy Curd of Piney Flats; a brother and sister-in-law, Bane and Gladys Higginbotham of Erwin. A memorial service for Don L. Higginbotham will be conducted Tuesday, January 3, 2006 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Pastor Milton Mathers and Rev. Doug Hinshaw will officiate. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Adventa Hospice, 684 Highway 91, Elizabethton, TN 37643
