Donna E. Tanner

Donna E. Tanner, 63 of 110 Clark Drive, Johnson City, died Sunday, June 3, 2007 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Tanner was a native of Washington County and had lived in Carter County for many years. She was a daughter of the late Calvin and Dorothy McAllister Edwards. Donna was a very loving, devoted, Mother, Mamaw, Sister, Neighbor and friend. Mrs. Tanner was a retired Financial Representative with GMAC. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Tanner is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond B. Tanner on January 18, 2004. Survivors include: one son, Lenny Tanner of the home; one daughter, Tracy Harris of Johnson City; one brother Rev. Garry Edwards and wife Sarah of Duffield, VA; one sister, Anita and husband Rick Holdren of Johnson City; a sister-in-law, Kay Stallings of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Christopher Tanner, Lensey Tanner, Aspen Harris, and Chase Potter; several nieces and nephews; several special friends, Jean Stitt, Judy Ledford, Teresa Woodring, Kim Price, Jennifer Martin, Laura Tester ,Linda Hutchins, Sheila Colby and her loving neighbors. The funeral service for Donna E. Tanner will be conducted at 8 PM Tuesday, June 5, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Garry Edwards and Dr. Vic Young will officiate. Music will be by Christopher Tanner and Jennifer Martin, soloists. The graveside service will be conducted at 1 PM Wednesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 12:50PM Wednesday. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Hartley, Rick Holdren, Travis Jackson, David Martin, David Harris, and Chad Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Fowler, Dennis Woodring, Kenneth Loveless, Clyde Hartley,Wayne Buckles, and Tom Bowers. The family will receive friends in Morris-Baker from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday prior to the service.
