Dorman Tucker

October 10, 1930 — January 26, 2007

Dorman Tucker, 76, 1304 East 11th Avenue, Johnson City died Friday, January 26, 2007 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Tucker was a native of Jonesborough who had lived all his life in Johnson City. He was the son of the late Bill Tucker and Ruth Garest Tucker. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two great aunts, Cora Beals and Dora Henson; two second couisins, Kate Beals and Mae Beals. He was retired from the VA Chaplin Service where he played the organ for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Tucker was a member of the East Unaka Christian Church. Survivors include: his wife, Norma Tucker, of the home; one sister, Jean Potter and her husband Jack, of Gray; two nieces, Gina Delany, of Knoxville and Susane Potter, of Morristown; one nephew, Ronald Potter and his wife Phyllis, of Cleveland, Tn.; two great nieces, Paige Delany, of Knoxville and Ambee Potter, of Cleveland, Tn. The Funeral service for Dorman Tucker will be conducted at 8 PM Monday, January 29, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. Wayne Emery will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted 1 PM Tuesday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 12:45 PM. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Monday prior to the service.
