Dorothy Jane Bryant, 91, of Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at The Pointe at Lifespring. She was a native of Havana, Illinois, a daughter of the late Andrew Nathan and Harriet Hendricker Larson. Dorothy was a member of Downtown Christian Church. She received a bachelor?s degree from Lincoln Christian College, and a Master?s of Education from ETSU. She worked as a teacher for over eighteen years, serving in public school, private Christian schools, and at the college level. Dorothy retired from Milligan College in 1991. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Beauford H. Bryant, in 1997; six sisters, Evelyn and Hazel Felleson, Esther Lindsey, Lillian Roberts, Nelda Smith and Thelma Stevenson; five brothers, Robert Larson and his twin, Andrew Larson Jr., Joseph Larson, and David Larson. Surviving include: John and Christian Bryant, and Susan and Jill Bryant-Nelson; grandchildren, Larkin, Owen, Dulce, and Nevaeh Grace; and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please send gifts and donations to Milligan College or Emmanuel School of Religion. The family of Dorothy Bryant will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, November 12, 2018, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM, officiated by Dr. W. Edward Fine, with Dr. Robert Wetzel of Emmanuel School delivering the eulogy. A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Friends and family are asked to gather at the graveside by 10:50 AM.
