Dorothy Lenora Campbell

September 30, 1929 — September 17, 2005

Dorothy Lenora Campbell, 75, of 116 Shady Lane, Johnson City, died at her residence, Saturday, September 17, 2005. She was a native of Sullivan County but had lived most of her life in Washington County. She was a daughter of the late June Thomas and Lena Hannah Overbay. Mrs. Campbell was a member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of Baxter-Pharmaseal with 28 years of service. She was an avid bowler for fifty plus years. She was a member of the JCWBA and many other leagues, having served in several offices in each. She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary at VFW post #2108, and at one time served as president for two terms. She was a volunteer usher at Freedom Hall for several years. Survivors include her husband, Jeter Campbell; one daughter, Sandy Campbell of Johnson City and one grandson, Marshall Scism of Johnson City. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 PM Monday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Curtis Hurt and Rev. Talmadge Brown will officiate. Burial services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 1:45 PM Tuesday and proceed to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be her bowling buddies, Dr. Thomas Johnson and Staff, Staff of 5400 at the Johnson City Medical Center, Dr. Charles Cole, Martin McCracken and C.J. Campbell.
