Dorothy Lyons Hopson Moore

October 4, 1924 — October 25, 2017

Dorothy Lyons Hopson Moore, 93, of Big Stone Gap, VA, died Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Heritage Hall of Big Stone Gap. She was a daughter of the late George Washington and Agnes Dellarae Greer Lyons.

First and foremost our Mom was a Christian. She loved her church family at Keystone Free Will Baptist Church. When she moved to Big Stone Gap, she worshiped at Trinity United Methodist Church and Heritage Church of God where her son-in-law Ronnie was pastor.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Worley K. Hopson, Son, Bruce Marvin and wife Mary, a sister, Gladys Norton and her second husband, H. L. Moore, precedes Dorothy in death.
Survivors include: her daughter Patsy A. and husband Ronnie Mutter and their children and son, Larry K. Hopson and wife Betty Jane and their children; her sister, Della ?Dee' Briscoll, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and special friends, Nancy, Hope, Patti and Dottie.
Dorothy?s family would like to extend love and special thanks to PACE and Heritage Hall nursing home of Big Stone Gap.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home in Dogwood Chapel, from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm. A funeral service will follow under the direction of Rev. Bill Greer, Rev. Ronnie Mutter and Rev. Terry Jones. The Keystone Free Will Baptist Trio will provide special music. A committal service will be conducted at the Lyons Chapel Cemetery at 3:30 pm. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 3:20 pm.
