Dorothy Olita Mason

Dorothy O. 'Dot'? Mason, 81, of Johnson City died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at her residence. She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of the late Aner and Mary Ford Cross. Dorothy was a homemaker and member of the Clifton View Baptist Church. She loved her flower garden and collecting Mason China and had even traveled to Europe to collect pieces for her collection. She also enjoyed keeping up with high school and lifelong friends. In addition to her parents, her husband of 57 years, Chuck Mason, Sr. and a brother, Bud Cross, preceded her in death. Survivors include: four sons and two daughters-in-law, Chuck and Nancy Mason of Jonesborough, Greg and Debbie Mason of Piney Flats, Dale Mason and Brett Mason both of Johnson City; a special sister-in-law, Anna Cross of Wilmington, NC; five grandchildren, Brandi Helton, Charlie Mason, Greg Mason, Jr., Ben (Jean) Mason and Helen (Stephen) Nemeth; nine great grandchildren, Taylor and Kade Helton, Gregory 'Scooter'?, Ariel, Caleb and Dylan Mason, Logan Pelky, Liam Mason and Ethan Stuart. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 7:00 pm under the direction of Rev. Mike Anglin. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until time of service at 7:00 pm in the South Chapel of the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home. A committal service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 2:30 pm in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bill Lewis and Marc Runyan and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Ste. 102, Johnson City, TN 37601.
